Junior American Citizens (JAC) sponsored by the Clinch Bend Chapter, NSDAR

The goals of JAC include the development of good citizenship, interest in American history, and acknowledging patriotic expression. These goals are known as the “Triple A’s”, Ancestry, Academics, and Allegiance.

Highlights:

JAC is sponsored by a chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, which provided the JAC adult leader with information about contests, guidelines for conducting meetings, and materials including membership cards, certificates and JAC buttons. The chapter also submits the JAC projects for judging in a timely manner to ensure students are eligible for awards. The chapter promotes the winning student, leader and school in the local media. The Clinch Bend Chapter, NSDAR, sponsors JAC in Anderson county and Campbell county, Tennessee.

Contest participation is open to all school aged children. There are three contest categories, Art, Creative Expression and Community Service Project. The rules for the contests are enclosed with this letter. Of course, we do hope that once you see the benefit of having the children involved with JAC, that you will want to do more JAC activities with them.

Ongoing JAC Clubs are organized using very basic Roberts Rules of Order so children gain experience in how to conduct business in an orderly manner. There is a guide for leaders to use when setting up a JAC club. Please contact the chapter for this free material. A chapter member will be available to install your officers and help set up the club.
